For anyone who has come late to the party and is astonished to learn that Kevin Durant is an ectomorph, fear not, there is some evidence that this kind of player can succeed at the next level:
The kid can play. End of story.

I agree…
Shorty, I went to Kansas. This kid lit us the hell up, and we were a defensive-minded squad. The only thing that kept Texas from sweeping the Jayhawks for the season was a lack of support from Rick Barnes and the other burnt orangemen.
If I remember correctly, Kevin Garnett was extremely wiry coming into the draft, too. He’s pretty good at his craft. Durant will grow into his body, jeez, he’s only 18 or 19.
That said…i see no way that anyone could in their right mind select Durant over Oden. That would be like taking Tracy McGrady over Tim Duncan. If you want to win titles. you have to go with the big man. just look at the past 15 years in the NBA. With the exception of Jordan (the gr8est of all time) every Finals winner had a dominant big man…
Yeah, you have to take that chance. Given that there’s no guarantee that any player will work out anywhere in the draft process, you have to play the percentages when you’re at the top.
