Not trying to be comprehensive here, but I read a few things that inspired me to laugh, think, or just reflect on the wonder of it all today, and here they are:
I told you OMDQ is now a dad. He talks about it here. And to answer his question: No, it doesn’t make sense until you’ve lived through it. I have, so I know how true it all is. Mega-congratulations to a great guy, his great wife, and his great offspring.
Moderately Cerebral Bias pokes a few holes in our blog-obsession. These kinds of articles piss off some of my blogging brethren, but it’s true – we should never take all of this too seriously, unless we want to become the internet version of ESPN.
Anyone who thinks American soccer wanted Beckham for his playing ability is missing the point. Becks will save the MLS through a sales-based cash infusion, not increased attendance figures. And if even one MLS jersey becomes cool to wear, that’s got to be a credibility boost, right?
The Ducks must have gotten tired of hearing about the Beavers. They’ve reinstated their baseball program!
Even in the context of the OU forfeit, Kansas’ 2005 “win” over the Sooners still looks pathetic.
